HOW TO USE EXFOLIATING BATH GLOVES
Exfoliation is an ancient technique that encourages old, dead skin cells to slough off and brand new skin cells to emerge. Exfoliation has the added benefit of increasing circulation, drawing blood and oxygen to the surface of the skin and encouraging that youthful, energetic glow that is coveted by so many. Of course, many people exfoliate their faces on a regular basis; but using a gentle exfoliating glove in the bath or shower is a convenient and quick way to increase skin cell turnover and encourage healthy skin on the rest of the body.
Step 1
Wet down all of your skin in the shower or bath so that the skin cells are moistened and have had a chance to soften in the warm water.
Put the glove on your hand and wet down the fibers in the water. Apply a dime-sized amount of moisturizing body wash to the palm of your gloved hand. Since the glove will be the main scrubbing agent you won't need a sugar scrub or other abrasive soap product.
Scrub your body using gentle, circular motions starting from your feet and working your way up to your shoulders. Sweep over each area of your skin a few times with the mitt, but avoid scrubbing ferociously so that you don't aggravate the skin.
Scrub for a bit longer around the heels of the feet, the knees and the elbows or any areas that are prone to harden and toughen up from exposure to the elements.
Apply gentle pressure to areas like the inner thigh, the neck and the stomach. These areas have much more sensitive skin and should only require a couple of passes to remove dead skin cells.
Rinse off the glove and your body once you have finished exfoliating.
Towel dry your skin promptly after exiting the bath or shower.
Apply an intensive moisturizer to your skin. Alternatively, apply a natural oil like coconut, almond or olive oil, which will give your new skin cells hydration therapy.
